For decades, career politicians have failed to tackle the most pressing issues facing Novato and Marin County. Year after year, with the best of intentions, we’ve collectively become accustomed to expensive, ineffective plans, and the unfortunate reality is that while homeowners in Bel Marin Keys struggle to obtain permits for necessary renovations, sprawling homeless encampments have become the new normal. If, like me, you are a long-time resident of Marin County, you’ve witnessed home values soar even as our quality of life has, in crucial ways, declined. At the county level, we are now simultaneously grappling with rising fees, rampant homelessness, and an unaffordable housing market. We can do better, and I believe that with the right leadership, like that of County Supervisor Andy Podshadley, we can address these challenges effectively.
